These pages emerge from one of those many simple revelations that spring forth when one least expects.  The Divine inspiration that is open to everyone.  We all have those moments and often take little notice  or voice a silent word of gratitude.  Sometimes, though, the Spirit keeps nudging us until we have no choice but to act.  This is one of those times.

Like many of us, I often watch the world as though a stranger to it.  I see the large acts of war and the small acts of indifference.  I watch the daily acts of violence, both physical and emotional.  I see a political arena where we become increasingly polarized from one another and create enemies out of good human beings.  And like many of us, I join in or go about my daily routine with some off handed remark about “the world” and “them”.  But then I picture Jesus before me and he is none too happy with my hypocrisy.

On one of those days when I watched the world with a mixture of despair and anger, I randomly opened up my  YouVersion Bible app and came to  the passage from Matthew 24:12-13.

“The love of most will grow cold but he who stands firm to the end will be saved”

In that simple moment, I saw myself and the world with a new clarity.  We have let “love grow cold”.  I have become “lukewarm” at best (Revelations 3:16)  and in danger of being spit out.Love is the work of every human being.

And for Christians, and many other faiths, it is the one firm commandment.

So I invite you to help me to Stand Firm in Love and to stand with me in love before and with all our brothers and sisters.
